Costa Brava
To the north of Barcelona are the popular beaches of the Costa Brava, a wild and rugged coast. The coastline has lots of villages and coves to explore.

A quiet town with an ancient Jewish section, narrow streets, imposing walls and plenty of cafes about an hour north of Barcelona.The River Onyar runs through the middle of the city and an interesting place to start your tour from.

Sixty kilometres outside Barcelona lies Montserrat and the site of the monastery where people come to worship the Virgin of Montserrat.

The main city in the south of Catalonia has the Roman Archaeological Promenade, the monastery trail, which includes Poblet, Santes Creus and Vallbona de les Monges. The Museu Nacional Arquelogic de Tarragona houses the Roman collection.

Vines are grown to the south west of Barcelona centred around Penedes and Vilafranca.
